General Research Interest: My work and general research interests are broadly concerned with vertebrate molecular systematics and evolution, with emphasis on actinopterygian fishes. Currently, I’m focusing on the emerging field of phylogenomics that integrates the study of the evolution of living organisms using multiple genes or genomic data and the study of gene/genome function using phylogenetic data. For this project, I will use this approach as the tool to investigate diversity of the Cypriniformes and their natural history at different time scales
